OUR

A diverse group of people stand on a dark stage under a large rectangular light, singing and playing music as a band, with one man placing a hand on a woman.

Three men stand talking in a brightly lit room. A smiling man with a red beard holds a sleeping baby, showing it to his two friends.

HEARTBEAT

Everything we do is centered around one purpose: to draw people into an ever-increasing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Who we are

Church of the Vale has been part of the Ipswich community since 1965. Over the decades, we've grown, we've moved and we've built. In 1998, we purchased land along Ripley Road and made our home right at the gateway of what is now one of Australia's fastest-growing regions, the Ripley Valley.

But buildings and land have never been the point. People are.

We are a Spirit-filled community that believes faith is active, the presence of God is real, and the local church is still the hope of the world. We don't just gather on Sundays. We carry something into every neighbourhood, workplace, school and home we walk into.

Our vision is simple and it drives everything we do: to draw people into an ever-increasing relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

That looks like Sunday services where you can encounter God, not just hear about Him. It looks like Vale Kids and Vale Youth giving the next generation a place to belong and grow. It looks like Connect Groups where real friendships form and real life gets shared. It looks like Alpha for anyone who still has questions. And it looks like a community that genuinely believes the best days for this region are still ahead.

With over 120,000 new residents forecast to call the Ripley Valley home by 2030, we are not sitting still. We are building, believing and ready to welcome every single person who walks through our doors.

This is Church of the Vale. And there is a place here for you.

Our Beliefs

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He  exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy  Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life,  died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

An intimate relationship with God is core to who we are. We will always pursue his presence and hold it in reverence, respect and awe.

The Priority of People

God sent Jesus for everyone. People are His priority and so they are ours also no matter their nation, age, stage or tribe.

The pursuit of Purpose

We invite everyone to experience the fulfilment that comes from pursuing the purpose God has for them.
